  1. Ohh my, there are so many... from being a camper and working there. I'll start with this one.

One of my favorite times at camp was the annual HH Olympics. I was honored one year with the opportunity to run the torch for opening ceremonies. Being a part of that tradition was an awesome feeling and holds a place in my heart forever. A piece of this memory also belongs to Gwen Duff. When I was approached by her to ask if I would run the torch, I proudly accepted with a big smile!!

Thanks HH for all the memories!

  2. I remember on a Beach Day special day, a fire truck from the MFD came by and was showering all the campers. Well, being a mainly man, myself with a few other male staff members had a brilliant idea that "I can withstand the straight-on blast from that hose!" The fireman played along, lined us up and started the stream. As he worked his way from right to left, each of us went down almost immediately once hit by the water stream. That thing ws strong!! It swept our out out feet and all 8 or 10 of us were on the ground, laughing hysterically.

  3. Ah...I remember that clearly Russ-as all of you tough guys lined up and there were lined down after the hose got ya! I was standing on the sideline with someone saying "This isn't going to be pretty", then we had a grand laugh as you went down-and fast!
One (hard to pick just one after so many years) of my favorite memories is also from a special day. I remember flash back day the year the Coordinators re-enacted Wendy and Dudley's wedding. The best line of the day was from Bob Martin (dressed as a young Dudley) states, "I take the camp, uh uh, I mean you Wendy...". Good times-and now new generations are making their own wonderful memories each summer. Thanks for the amazing summers HH, then-now-and many more to come!

  4. I am typing this for Will and Nick Forst. When I asked them their favorite camp memory they both jumped up and ran to their room and pulled down the "coolest brothers award" that they received two years ago at the end of the session. Will says "I will always remember getting it and being so proud that I have a cool brother and everyone knows it!" Then Nick steps in and says "this summer Sam will be at camp and I hope he gets an award because he's pretty cool too!" Camp memories can't get any better than brotherly love!

  6. My favorite memory was to see Mr. and Mrs. Duff celebrate Holiday Hill's 50th reunion 2 years ago.

Simply stated, Holiday Hill is Eastern Connecticut's Disney World to so many families.
