Canoe
It sounds simple enough but requires balance, arm strength, cooperation and a sense of adventure. Trips to the waterfront with Holiday Hill Day Camp are always a summer memory. Trained staff guide campers in proper use of equipment and safety so their canoe trip is the best!
The access to the Lake at Mansfield Hollow State Park is at the boat launch of Bassett's Bridge Rd. In Mansfield, just a quick drive by van from camp. There are 16.1 Billion gallons of fun waiting! For more info on the Lake and the park see this link: www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?a=2716&q=325236

Tricks for Pitching a Large Tipi
Did you ever wonder how they get the tipi up?
It will certainly be a sign winter is over when they return to the horizon at Holiday Hill Day Camp http://www.holidayrecreation.com/ Found this nice video of a group pitching a tipi so you can see how it is done.
If you can't wait until summer comes around and your camp session, remember, you can always pitch a card table tipi in the family room and have some camp fun for the smaller set.
Raising the tipi is not very different from an old fashioned barn raising. When everyone cooperates big jobs become simpler. That is one skill the team building aspect of the Ropes Course teaches.
